What do you enjoy most about your day with Kerrits?
The thing I most enjoy about my day at Kerrits is that I have the opportunity to work with such a great group of women, knowing that each person has something special to contribute to the success of the business. From customer service, to manufacturing and distribution, to design - it is very rewarding to work in a place where creativity and team work thrive.
What is your favorite Kerrits garment and why?
Rather than a single garment, I think my favorite thing is the fact that all Kerrits garments are designed as great multi-sport pieces no matter what your sport. I like to wear our tights as long underwear skiing, our Coach’s Coat at rainy kids soccer games, and many of our performance tops for biking.
Tell a story about the best moment you have had as a Kerrits Company team member.
With almost 20 years as part of the Kerrits team it is hard to choose one moment. There are many that are memorable – the first time the retail store hit $500K in sales, all the fun and crazy times we’ve had working on catalogs and apparel designs, great customer service moments, and all the wonderful friends I’ve made over the years. I guess just the feeling of knowing that your hard work and dedication have been a journey well worth the trip has to be the sum of the many great moments I’ve enjoyed at Kerrits.
What do you do to help preserve the Earths resources?
I am motivated to preserve the environment to help make the world a better place for my kids. I am always amazed at 9 and 11, how they embrace recycling, remind each other to turn off the lights or do push-ups (I have 2 boys), and about how much they know about our renewable resources.
Do you have a horse experience you would like to share?
I think the time Kerri “saved my life” while we were on a company trail ride would have to be the most memorable horse experience I have ever had. I was one of the last riders on the trail, with only Kerri and her thoroughbred following behind. (I have to mention here that I have a slight fear of horses.) We were walking along a steep embankment when the 8 horses in front stirred up a hornet’s nest. My horse started acting a bit strangely, there was some sudden rearing and bucking, and I was sure I was going down the embankment. Luckily, Kerri saw the signs of what was happening, positioned her horse between me and the downhill slope and firmly told me to, “jump off the horse now!” I honestly think I got bucked off rather than dismounting on my own accord, but I was off, only to proceed to get stung by a swarm of hornets! The horse rolled down the embankment, I ran down the trail half stripping to get rid of the hornets in my clothes. In the end, the horse was okay, I recovered enough to get back on and ride the few miles back, and thanks to Kerri, I’m still here to tell the story today. |
