A pioneer among women in the horse industry, Lynn Palm Pittion-Rossillon has long had a passion for teaching. In fact, she instructed her first clinic in 1970 – long before any of her contemporaries at the top of today’s clinician market had even considered horsemanship instruction as a viable profession. No other clinician today can begin to match Palm’s proven performance record as an all-around trainer, showman, exhibitor and entrepreneur with a first class reputation.
Some of Palm's accomplishments include:
Named 2007 AQHA Horsewoman of the Year
AQHA Female Equestrian of the Year
34 World and Reserve World Champions
Over 50 Bridleless Dressage Exhibitions to Music throughout the United States at such prestigious events as the National Horse Show, the Washington International and the International World Cup
Chosen to Perform Exhibitions during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games with the Quarter Horse Ambassador "Rugged Lark"
2003 Equine Affaire Exceptional Equestrian Educator Award winner
2006 AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year
Named 2000 AQHA Female Equestrian of the Yea by the Women’s Sports Foundation
A self described perfectionist and workaholic, Palm has built an immensely successful career with a wide spectrum of abilities and experiences. Built upon her foundation in dressage she has a one time or another studies competed, exhibited and/or instructed dressage, hunter under saddle, western horsemanship, western riding, showmanship, English equitation, hunter/jumper, western pleasure, reining and working cowhorse.
In addition, Palm has been a staunch advocate of dressage with Quarter Horses. Her support has been a driving force in getting dressage recognized as a AQHA discipline.
While perhaps best known for her work with the two-time Superhorse champion, Rugged Lark, Lynn has created a legacy of training and showing an unmatchable cadre of outstanding performance horses. Impressive as her performance record is, Palm says that her primary goal is to educate others on forming correct riding skills and building knowledge to increase the riding longevity of their horses.
Instead of focusing on helping riders fix their horses, Lynn and her husband, Cyril Pittion-Rossillon, have created Palm Partnership Training with the mission of improving the rider first and foremost. The pair conducts Palm Partnership Training courses at Fox Grove Farm in Ocala, Florida and at Royal Palm Ranch in Bessemer, Michigan. Palm's "Ride Well" clinics are offered across the country.
Breaking the mold of the old adage, "those who can't do, teach," Lynn Palm is an all-around western and english horsewoman and a legend in her own time. From the show ring to the practice arena, Palm is "in it to win it" and is a major force in the equine industry as a clinician, competitor and trainer. |
