Kerrits Ambassador Cecilia Lang-Ree Cecilia Lang-Ree

Owns Horse(s): No, I lease

Primary discipline of riding: English - Hunters and Equitation

How often does she ride: 3-4 days/week

Why she is a Kerrits Ambassador: The Kerrits brand has been my mainstream of riding clothing for a good while now, and they provide good quality products that I believe all riders-competitive or non-competitive-should learn about and use. I have used Kerrits products for almost 9 years now, and they have taken me through many disciplines including Competitive Trail, Hunters/Eq, and Eventing. I believe that the Kerrits brand should be promoted through those who enjoy and wear their products and continue the tradition of comfortable and affordable riding apparel.

Her Goals: I am currently a sophomore in highschool, giving me the difficult task of balancing my passion for riding with school and my second love-theater. I take all honors or AP classes and I maintain a 4.2 GPA due to my goal of being accepted into Stanford or Yale for college. Riding at Stanford is a blessing and I wish to continue there as long as possible. I also participate in 3-4 plays and musicals per year. Although it is hard to balance that with riding & academics, my creative side is consistently brought out! My riding goals this year are fairly simple - to do well in rated Hunter & Equitation classes with my new lease "Dreamer" and to be able to move up to 3' medal classes by early 2011. My definitive goal as a junior is to compete in the "Big Eq" classes and qualify for large medal finals. Although I do not wish to pursue riding as a professional career, I would like the opportunities to ride & compete throughout my entire life.

Her Kerrits Story: My first pair of breeches ever was a pair of the Kerrits children's performance tights. I was six years old at the time, and had just started riding Dressage at a lesson barn. On my way to one of my first lessons, I mentioned to my horse "newbie" dad that I needed a pair of breeches to ride in. Although he knew nothing about riding apparel, he was willing enough to venture into a tack shop and find me my first breeches as I sat in the car playing a video game. He came out with a pair of tan, stretchy pants and although it sounds cheesy - they were possibly the coolest and softest things I'd ever touched. I loved wearing them and riding in them. I was especially awestruck by the packet of carrot seeds that came with my pants, and planted them at home. I still get carrots every summer from that plant! Long story short, those breeches lasted me until I was 12. I had to wear longer and longer socks to make them fit, but I was determined to keep them as long as possible! Eventually, I didn't fit the waist, and I had to give them to my young cousin who was just starting to ride. I hope they bring her as much luck as they did to me. I wore them at my first barn schooling show, XC on my first horse trial, and in countless horsey adventures.
