Kerrits Ambassador Brittany Yard Brittany Yard

Owns Horse(s): Yes.

Primary discipline of riding: Eventing

How often does she ride: 5-7 times a week

Why she is a Kerrits Ambassador: The Kerrits brand is my absolute favorite brand of pants to wear regardless of the season. My favorite style is Flow rise riding tights, which I wear year round. They are great in the summer to help me stay cool on hot days or equally as great in the winter when coupled with a heavier pant as well. The fit of this pant is exceptional as most brands do not cater to thin riders with long legs like myself. I also love the fact that these pants come in the knee patch style because it eliminates the bulk and gives me close contact with the saddle. In addition to the comfort and flattering look of these pants, I must also include that when riding between 3-6 horses a day my riding pants tend to wear out rather quickly, but my Kerrits pants are more durable than any other brand I have tried.

Her Goals: This is the first year that I have declared myself as a professional in the horse industry, although I have been competing competitively in both eventing and dressage for years. This year I plan on taking my "A" pony club rating. My professional goals include: competing my young event horses and get my off the track TB running Preliminary by the end of the year, complete my USDF Bronze medal and dabble with fourth level and Prix St. George dressage with a horse I have been bringing up the ranks in both eventing (we have moved from Novice- Intermediate together) and dressage over the last four years, break my three year old Hanoverian cross, continue to coach my young pony club students to their goals in eventing, and finally begin my career as a a High School English teacher.

Her Kerrits Story: In 2005, I sustained a rather severe riding accident. I was riding a horse a friend had loaned me for my "B" pony club rating, and I was preparing for the testing. This horse never learned to rein back, and I attempted to teach her. She decided to rear and flip over backwards on me; the pommel of my dressage saddle snapped my femur and the weight of the horse bruised my lungs. When I was finally discovered in the field, my friend called 911. The paramedics arrived, and I repeatedly told them, "Do not cut these pants. They are my favorite ones." (They were my first pair of Kerrits Flow rise that had lasted over a year)
