Kerrits Ambassador Andrea Marcinkus Andrea Marcinkus

Owns Horse(s): Yes - a Spottle Saddle Horse gelding.

Primary discipline of riding: Trail riding, side saddle, Australian saddle, Natural Horsemanship (Parelli)

How often does she ride: 4-5 times a week

Why she is a Kerrits Ambassador: I only wear Kerrits breeches/tights. Additionally, given my background, I understand the quality and excellent fit of your products. I am the Academic Director of the fashion department at the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg. I've taught flat pattern, fit, draping, and textiles for years. I am also a textile technology consultant to Kohl's Corporation. My professional background leads me to only buy clothes that can perform well. Kerrits' clothing has always performed this way for me. And, as a teacher, I can effectively communicate the advantage of the clothing to other. Additionally, I am actively involved with the local horse community. While I am personally focused on trail riding and natural horsemanship, I meet so many people at horse events – I have often sang the praises of several of your riding tights (especially the winter-weight ones), and I know others have bought your product based on my recommendations.

Her Goals: Personal: complete the restoration on my 1892 Queen Anne style home, and plant lots of antique-style roses. Professional: finish my book, "Crafting in the Technological Age." I just moved up the academic ladder from Professor to Director, so, being a Dean is in my future. Equestrian: continue learning about natural horsemanship, and learning from my horse. Take the lessons I've learned from training (patience, learning from my horse/students, etc) and continue to apply them to daily life, continue to perfect my side-saddle equitation (which I'm just beginning to learn), and I desperately want a mini pony for driving (one of my horse buddies has a herd of 35, and I appear in parades for her).

Her Kerrits Story: This spring I ordered your Flow Rise Performance tight. The first trail ride out, my horse and I encountered a herd of white-tailed dear. My horse likes to "off road", so I decided to leave the trail to seen how close we could get. We got plenty close - in fact, we actually ran with the deer herd through the open forest - gaiting comfortably, and jumping downed wood with fluidity and grace. It was a fairy-tale ride! Every time I wear those tights, I think of that amazing time.
